February 4, 2011
Harvard Jolly's design for Fivay High School in Hudson, Florida was recognized with an Award of Merit by the Florida Educational Facilities Planners Association (FEFPA) as part the organizations' Architectural Showcase competition.
The annual Architectural Showcase recognizes FEFPA members for their outstanding design of educational facilities with entries being evaluated on criteria such as aesthetics and use of materials; flexibility for community use; technology provisions; and relationship of spaces and expandability.
As the newest addition to the fast-growing Pasco County School District, Fivay High School provides students with a high-tech learning experience and has been described as a small college campus. The 285,000 square foot school is laid out around a brick-lined courtyard filled with trees, and includes six main buildings housing classrooms, administrative offices, a gymnasium, cafeteria facilities, cutting edge science labs, and a field house.
