Pinellas County Public Safety Facilities and Centralized Communications Center

Largo, FL

Pinellas County | 230,000 SF | 2013

The $81.4 million project will include four new buildings and one renovated building on the 40 acre site to house the county's new emergency operations center; emergency communications and 911 call center; emergency medical services; sheriff's administrative/operational headquarters and dispatch center; and vehicle maintenance and communications building. A new 689-space parking garage and central energy plant will serve the complex.

The facility will have the capability to withstand winds of over 200 miles per hour and the forces of a 10,000 year storm event. During a natural disaster or other crisis, the facility will remain fully operational to lead recovery efforts and provide for continuous emergency communications.

The project, which will include sustainable features to meet LEED certification standards, is scheduled to be complete in 2013.
