New Port Richey Police Headquarters and Emergency Operations Center

New Port Richey, FL

City of New Port Richey | 17,245 SF | 2002

Serving as the city’s police headquarters and emergency operations center, this facility was designed to withstand 130 mph winds and operate at full service during storm events. The building includes administrative areas, vehicle sally port, booking area, holding cells, and other support spaces for New Port Richey’s 41 sworn officers and 25 civilian employees.

The design provides a secure corridor system and limited access for the protection of both the general public and department staff. Communications and dispatch areas were planned for maximum security by locating them centrally within the facility as a self-sufficient entity.

Security concerns were paramount in the site design as it was carefully zoned into three areas: public parking with access to main front entry, employee parking with access to staff entry, and patrol car parking in a secure parking lot.
